The UK catalog combines 314 British-only sections from the supplied British-Sections-1 workbook with the 882 angle and hollow sections already shared from the European source tables. It includes universal beams (UB), universal columns (UC), universal bearing piles (UBP), rolled steel joists (RSJ), parallel flange channels (PFC), tees split from UB and UC, equal and unequal angles, and hot-finished RHS, SHS and CHS. Search all 1,196 metric-native designations, compare dimensions and section properties, download a family chart, or load a section into the Optimal Beam calculator. Summary and Sheet1 are intentionally excluded, and the workbook’s angle and hollow-section sheets are not imported again because those families already exist in the shared catalog. Confirm the required product standard, grade, tolerances and current availability with the project specification and supplier before final design or fabrication.

Designations

Understanding UK designations

British rolled-section designations use nominal metric dimensions and mass. Hollow-section designations use outside dimensions followed by wall thickness.

UB 305×165×40: Universal beam with nominal depth 305 mm, nominal flange width 165 mm and mass 40 kg/m.
UC 254×254×73: Universal column with nominal depth and width near 254 mm and mass 73 kg/m.
PFC 200×75×23: Parallel flange channel with nominal depth 200 mm, flange width 75 mm and mass 23 kg/m.
T 152×76×12: Tee section split from a universal beam or column; use the family tab to identify its source series.
L 100×75×10: Unequal angle with 100 mm and 75 mm legs and 10 mm thickness.
RHS 200×100×8: Rectangular hollow section with 200 mm outside height, 100 mm outside width and 8 mm wall thickness.

UK data notes

The UK library contains 314 British-only rows plus 882 L, RHS, SHS and CHS rows shared with the European catalog.
Summary, Sheet1, EQ-L, U-L, RHS, SHS and CHS are excluded from the British workbook import; the shared families are retained from the reviewed European sources.
RHS, SHS and CHS entries are identified as hot-finished sections in the supplied workbook.
Published source axes are normalized to the finder’s x and y labels, with the mapping retained in each imported record.
Tee tables publish separate y-y elastic moduli at the flange and toe. The finder maps the smaller value to Sx and retains both source values in the imported record.
The RSJ table does not publish mass or flange width as separate columns; their nominal values are read from the section designation.
Metric values are canonical. Imperial values are derived for display and calculator compatibility.
Confirm the required product standard, grade, tolerances and current availability before fabrication or final design.

Which UK sections are included?

The UK catalog contains 1,196 sections across UB, UC, UBP, RSJ, PFC, tee, angle, RHS, SHS and CHS families.

Are UK universal beams and columns included?

Yes. The catalog includes 136 UB sections, 42 UC sections and 17 UBP sections from the supplied British workbook.

Were the British angle and hollow-section sheets imported twice?

No. EQ-L, U-L, RHS, SHS and CHS are excluded from the British workbook import because those shared families were already imported from the reviewed European source tables.

What are T-UB and T-UC?

They are tee sections split from universal beams and universal columns. Their source family is kept as a separate filter even though both use T designations.

Are the hollow sections hot-finished?

The supplied RHS, SHS and CHS workbook identifies these tables as hot-finished hollow sections. Confirm the exact product standard and grade required by your project.

Can UK sections be analyzed in Optimal Beam?
